Typical pinball crowd likes (or is used to?) beer. Otherwise, high margin offerings like alcohol will help offset your big fixed costs (lease, electricity, etc). Let yourself spend a bit to expand, but keep costs down. Hire an accountant to keep you realistic. I'm reaching out here to see if anyone has any advice for me to help me succeed with this idea. My Main concern is that pinball enthusiasts are a niche crowd, and I need to ensure I am not only profitable enough to sustain, but to grow the business. I am hoping to not only attract current pinball players, but to create new ones. Stern has a pretty good program called the "Stern Army" that looks exciting to be a part of and they also have Stern Insider leaderboards that I plan to focus on. There is one direct competitor (that is, a location with pinball), but I feel like I can provide a more focused pinball experience with regular tournaments and member perks focused on pinball things.
